Style Fashion Week LA opening night at Vibiana

Stop Staring by  Los Angeles based vintage-inspired ready to wear collection by Alicia Estrada was showcased on Monday evening at the beautiful Vibiana downtown, Los Angeles.

Designer Alicia Estrada found her inspiration for her Fall/Winter 2012 Collection through her love for the Golden Age of Mexican Cinema known as the "Epoca de Oro". As a Mexican-American and a film connoisseur, Alicia became fascinated with the great beauties of Mexican film noir like Dolores del Rio, Maria Felix, Marga Lopez and Lupe Velez. These starlets were glamorous femme fatales who exuded sensuality, sophistication and grace on and off screen captivating the attention of not only Mexico but the world.

This collection references traditional 1940s styling with elements from the 1950s and today. Blues, greys and blacks weave throughout the collection in a new window pane print and two-tone color blocking adds eye popping details to form-fitting styles. The dresses embraces and enhances the Latina curves that inspired Alicia while still remaining, classy, alluring and cosmopolitan.

Sorry I used a new video system and thought I knew it, but apparently I did not. So below is another video with a better version of the show, everything is in color. Also I was a little late checking in, so I missed my front row seat.
