Campus Fashion

From uniforms to platforms
You can say goodbye to those old school days of frumpy uniforms and say hello to a new kind of fashion show. Although a university is a place for studying and learning, students at UCSB can't help but to do it in style. Being a student there myself, I've realized dressing up for class is as normal as remembering to bring your backpack and books.

This campus fashion is a strong contributor to fashion in the 805 area, as a large portion of Santa Barbara's population is university students.

Below you'll see fashion trending around the UCSB campus.

Senior, Angelia Nuce rocks a high-low skirt from The Area on State Street, a cropped top from Brandy Melville, topped with classic brown wedges from Cathy Jean. High-lows have become a very popular trend this season and are seen throughout the entire UCSB campus. Try this look for a perfect day in the sun or try dressing it up with a nice blazer and a simple up-do!
Junior, Miranda Morgan is wearing a lavender crochet dress from Urban Outfitters, complimented with a brown waist belt, colorful bangles, and causal summer flip-flops. This outfit is perfect for anytime of the day! The bright color of this dress screams summer and is perfect for a nice day out.
Junior, Katie Thompson is rocking black high-waisted shorts from Miss Behavin, located in Isla Vista, a beige and black top from H&M, completed with simple black flats. High-waisted shorts are making a comeback everywhere in all sorts of styles. This look is perfect for a casual day at school or can be dressed up with a pair of black heels and some fierce make-up!
Nuce is wearing a low back top from Brandy Melville, simple jean shorts, and classic black and white Converse. As you can see, even a simple outfit like this can be spiced up with a cute summery top. This outfit is ideal for spending the day outdoors and in the sun!
Morgan's outfits is complete with a tie-dyed-like top from Urban Outfitters, high waisted jean shorts from American Apparel, finished with white high top Converse. Once again, high-waisted shorts are trending all over and are perfectly complemented with a colorful crop top!
In this last outfit, Thompson is wearing another high-low skirt from Brandy Melville and a beige lace bandeau underneath a sheer white tank-top from Urban Outfitters, completed with Bamboo brown wedges. This outfit can be sported during the day or at a casual dinner party, but either way it makes heads turn!

With summer in the air, it's no surprise that these looks are popular and creating a lot of buzz! As you can see, you can choose to make everyday your very own fashion show. Be bold, be unique, and have fun with it!
