VIEWS FROM THE FRONT ROW
This was Concept LA first time at the former Smashbox location Quixote Studies. I did not make it to see the first runway show NuVula, bummer.
Yoze
New brand Yoze premiered as the last designer of the evening to walk across the catwalk. Yoze founded by Dr. Davin Enoyoze Odia, is an American womenswear brand designed for a women who is "strong, independent and a pioneer of new ideas". Title after the middle name of its founder, Yoze is designed by Creative Director Miguel Rodriguez, the collection also featured collaboration with LA artist J.T. Burke to develop a collection of prints based on his "Beautiful Again" series.

Yoze's SS2014 collection features an assortment of  silhouettes executed in a pallet of whites, mauves, yellows and gold. Angular dresses in spandex jersey extended to the knee and use abbreviated peplums to nip the waist. In the same way, printed crepe jersey sundress are modernized and layered with short sleeve peplum jackets to enhance  the shoulders and waistline. Raglan jackets in printed satin are over floor-length jersey dresses that fade from mauve to a matching surrealistic golden print. On a side note: Thanks for leaving your material for the media on our seats, I wish more designers would take heed to that bit of professionalism.

 Emily Daccarett
Debuting Emily Daccarett started the show with a cute little flirty vignette before the runway show. Emily's  first collection, feature a mix of various metallics, lace and strategically placed cut outs. I loved the bright colors mixed with transparent textures and bold floral prints, very sexy. Emily Dacarett said the inspiration for her debut collection was the relationship of cultural French icons between Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin.

 JBurgos
New York based designer Jenn Burgos debuted as the second designer to grace the runway at Concept LA. I had a chance to ask Jenn a few questions after her show during the craziness backstage.

S805- What was inspiration for this collection?
JB-My inspiration was the south of France, I love using blue because of the elegance of the color, it can be worn with any color.
S805-What is your observation of LA Fashion Week?
JB-I wanted to bring a piece of New York to Los Angeles, having fashion for the everyday woman, the chic-ness of the clothes of 5th Avenue. I did NY Fashion Week with my fall collection 2013 last season. For more on JBurgos please visit her website http://www.jburgosny.com/
